KING ELECTRIC | REMIXOLOGY VOL 1 | 12" VINYL and DIGI (TOPMAX04)
15th November 2014,incl Remixes from Top Youngsters Sixtus Preiss, Emufucka, B.Visible & more

Remixology Vol 1 is the first bunch of remixes of King Electric's self titled debut album, which incl the hit singles "Da King" & "Out Of Reach" (peaked #9 @ German Indie Charts).

Artists
Being a drummer Sixtus Preiss knows how to astonish audiences with sophisticated handmade beats. Needless to say that, as member of the Affine Gang (incl fellas like Cid Rim, The Clonious or Dorian Concept), he stands out with his originality and a nevertheless strong sense for the prevalent Zeitgeist. His "Paralyzed" Reprater remix is catchy and charismatic and also absolutely danceable.

We were blown away when we first heard B.Visible on decks (supporting one of King Electric Live Gigs)! He delivers a wicked remix of Corbucci Westworld Dub Epos "Yul Brynner"! An outstanding feature of B.Visible's sense of funk 'n' humor! Glitch Hop as it's best.

No surprise that Vienna's downtempo master Manni Montana has chosen the King Electric Hit Single "Out Of Reach". His "Handshake Dub" comes as a subsonic tune with skilfully intertwined noise snippets, continuously thickening bass lines and smashing beats.

Badass GoodStuff Guns is nothing less than a nasty old school Splatter-Electro Hazard! First KE Single "Da King" transformed into Solomon size NAS Mash Up with disturbing make-up effects, skull cracking beats and "Deutschfunk" synth basslines.

Tremendous comeback of legendary Berlin based Techno act Memory Foundation. "Pinball Wizard" Wild Fyre Mix is - without any doubt - the sickest filter ride you may get at any Warehouse Party. Robert Hood on Acid.

Tokyo native Takafumi Sakurai aka Emufucka was recently featured by the likes of XLR8R and BBC Radio, and Red Bull Music Academy recruited him to perform this year. On Remixology he writes his own genre and transforms his personal King Electric favourite "Commit Yourself" into a japanese sci-fi movie with dusty noise and synthesized melodies. Creepy!

After the two electro-funk stompers "Da King" and "Commit Yourself", KING ELECTRIC surprises with their 3rd single OUT OF REACH!

It's surprising because the Radio Mix is such a bittersweet suicidal psycadelic swagger - so natural, so vintage! - and shows a brand new face of da Kings. Chris' Depeche-Gahanesque vocs and Pete's Zombie Telecaster drives us back to 60's pop: "warm summerbreeze blows so endlessly".

The EP as well is packed + 3 very different remixes for your consumption: Track 2: Handshake Dub, from Vienna's downtempo master Manni Montana (who is currently working on Gary Clails comeback Album), comes as subsonic dub mix with some kind of vietnamese dub jungle driven experiments. Track3: Chris Isepp's Blue Curacao Bel Air Mix comes as kinda Miami Vice 808/DX7 understatement tune plus high Q pop factor. A mill $ top notch yacht under moonrise on the way to Club Tropicana. Cool and sexy. Finally Top10's brandnew fellas "The Last One" prove their connexion to Beck Hanson and Jimi Tenor...Track 4, Acustico, results from a noizy Tennessee garage session. Just cross the bridge to Nashville. Btw The Last One will be supporting da Kings on live tour 2012/2013 to promote their Albums.

B-movie hijack electro funk smasher COMMIT YOURSELF! The guys proving once again their sense of humor and a lot of autonomy in the pop business!

In addition to the Radio Mix, the 2nd King Electric release is loaded with two special edits by the Kings themselves: da deep smoked out King Electric Club Mix plus noizy filterguits, Walter Gibbons strings and rowdy lovemachine bass and the Il grande silencio dub epos Yul Brynner + special guest Klaus Kinski aka Loco…and percussion wizard Courtney Jones on drums [recorded @ Dubblestandart Studio Vienna] Track 4 is a stomping prolo-disco mix by Terence iLL & Bud Flanger [producers of the Louie Austin Album „Last Man Crooning / Electrotaining You“], the most functional effort on this versatile record.

SOME FEEDBACK:
Rowdy killer beats with a hint of Karl Malden electro-funk meet disturbing brass and pop hedonism [You FM, Frankfurt/Germany]

Great stuff from King Electric! It kinda has a Streets of San Francisco style - makes it all sound like a 70’s b-movie theme. [Radio FM4, Vienna/Austria]

King Electric Club Mix is top groove…very cool 8/10! More dub-ed out groove like this…make the world a better place…!! [Kiss FM, Melbourne/Australia]

DA KING comes as a wave synth-disco freak show immersed in the world of fairground kitsch and circus glamour. The Radio Mix is also available on the FM4 Sound Selection 20 (feat. MGMT, Animal Collective, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, etc.) and peaked #5 at the official Austrian compilation charts.

Further remixes:
"DJ Stingray Mix" by Sherard Ingram (aka DJ Stingray) is a deep, almost industrial down-tempo electro spider from the Motor City. Ingram is well known for his collaborations with Drexciya (as the official Drexciya DJ) and his works with Carl Craig on Retroactive and Planet E as Urban Tribe. His career spans almost two decades of relentless Detroit techno, house, down-tempo and more recent releases since he began as a DJ with his friend Kenny Dixon Jr. in Detroit’s legendary Motorcycle Club. With "Flying King Mash Up Mix", King Electric pull out of the hat their 2003 club hit, "Flying Carpet", and fuse it with Vocoders and vocals of the Radio Edit into an "uplifting" four-to-the floor dub version. The old master, Cristian Vogel, has given a massive injection of extra punch to the "deep house track with a great deal of understated funk and shuffling beats to perfection (DE:BUG)" in the re-mastering. Get on board!

About:
Nurtured by Mudah peach record label tara king th’s universe shaped up at the turn of the century. Mainly album oriented at first Tara King th released a bunch of recordings bordering electro and post rock, cuddled up in swathing analog synths and featuring the voice of Beatrice - already there. Experiencing various line-ups for live performances ( the tale ‘harold’ narrated by the uncanny Dominique PATUREL , notably) the project became a fully fledged band, gathering collaborations and throwing in an identity –for real, for keeps.

Two ex-members from Virago came by and moulded Tara King Th into a rock band. Expect vibrant signals from Extravagant, Grotesque & Nonchalant the new release on Back To Mono records. Growing steady the universe of Tara King th. has become a cornerstone of the sixties and of the future. Where cracking farfisas and Hofner bass heat up, liven up years of delicate and palatable home electro legacy from earlier productions. Where imaginary hit songs, organs and fuzzy guitars fly away Melody-driven and hypnotizing, down-to-earth and celestial, Tara King th. conjures up spaghetti western delicatessen, future-gone-retro or acid rock from the early 70's. Hyperpop tune!
The "Radio mix" is another great example of their definition of pop music. Charming vocals, bubbling moog-synthesizers and rattling guitars make it a catchy soundtrack of bittersweet summerdreams. The cracklin' "Campfire mix" is recorded live under a clear starry sky on the Spanish Costa Daurada. That night, these two fellas fell into a state of trippin' emotions, wired under the influence of nature and silence. The flip takes a turn into the clubs and starts with the "Schizo mix". This tune is made for uptempo breakdancing battles. A zigzagging "uprock" through the minefield of an 909 oldschool thunderstorm surrounded by acid blurps and distorted vocal cuts. Finally the guest mix is from "Cay Taylan", who became famous with his debut album "Su" (2004, Couch Records). He surprises with a punchy 4-2 the floor burner and also with a good chance to be a club floorfiller.

SOME FEEDBACK
Déjà encore nouvea toux talents de vienne, grand production! [Radio Top Side, Nantes/France]

The Outset:
The raw yet irresistably-catchy "Original Mix" seduces with its relentless Motor Beat and sexy vocal passages. Inexorably, it blazes its way towards a bitter-sweet orchestral finale. In a frenzy, you arrive at the haunted castle where the velvety "Upandaway Mix" lies in wait. The wobbling synth bass and melancholic harmonies entice you into a perfect "New Romantic" touch. Suddenly, a backdoor opens up and the tale takes a dramatic twist: the "Konsorten™ Mix" reveals itself to be an electroid Italo-Disco vocoder rogue with dramatic strings adding to the tension. Attempting to escape, you finally run straight into a snare. The "Nightmare Mix", with its subsonic basslines takes up the chase, chains rattling, and you feel its rotten breath down your neck. Ghastly shapes and figures enter the sallow light from all directions to applaud a truly harrowing finale....

SOME FEEDBACK
They became famous with their nº1 single "Summerbreeze". Their second hit is different. The new trax are a more electroid and the house rhythm is not as dominant as before. But it has climbed also at the top in Bosnia! [Oksigen FM, Sarajevo/Bosnia&Hercegovina]

Great! We love their stuff! It must be the sexy scream-sample (could be from King Kong) that makes the "Nightmare Mix" everybody’s darling. Check them out! [K.B.O.O. Radio, Portland/USA]

The new record is great, it's better than "Summerbreeze" was. Faves are the "Nightmare Mix" and the "Upandaway Mix", but the "Original Mix" is wicked too. This really is special stuff! [Tilos Radio, Budapest/Hungary]

Lovely vocal treatment on the male vocal. It compliments the track very well. Overall the tracks are top shelf, high quality. The huge reverb on the female vocal sits well in the mix. A fav has got to be the "Upandaway Mix", what a dreamy-ness of the intro! Spins in Texas, for sure!!! [95 X Radio, Midland/USA]

Their new release on top10records. For us the "Original- and the Nightmare Mix" - with a perfect 'YELLO' reminder. Respect! [Waxsessions, Barcelona/Spain]

Great work again! Listen to the rolling 'YELLO'-sample, uaaaaaaa! Muy bueno! [Flaix FM, Barcelona/Spain]

"Summerbreeze" is a fluffy piece of gentle house. The lovely feel of this hyper-pop tune soon had the bad vibes floating away. The tracks are exactly what the title suggests. With a filter treatment and sampling MFSB "The Sound of Philadelphia", it's finished in a perfect touch of summer nights. The B-Side comes with a funked out deephouse-remix with a lot of understatement funk and shuffling beats in perfection plus a breaky 2-step mix.

SOME FEEDBACK
"Summerbreeze" is a fluffy piece of gentle house. The lovely feel of this hyper-pop tune soon had the bad vibes floating away. The "Flying Carpet Mix" is a little more directional and should be a club favorite, with the same lush sounds arranged with more of a kick. A perfect "back to mine" soundtrack. [DJ MAG, London/UK]

Relisted now that we've heard how good it is. Laid back deep-house with an unmistakable 70's sample! Comes with a funked out deephouse-remix and a breaky 2-step mix, plus an instrumental without the bitter sweet vocals. [Groove Dis, Chicago/USA]

Without a shadow of doubt summerbreeze. The tracks are exactly what the title suggests. With a filter treatment and sampling MFSB "The Sound of Philadelphia", it's finished in a perfect touch of summer nights. [Jet Set, Tokyo/Japan]

That austrian label comes with 4 mixes of a deephouse-track with a lot of understatement funk and shuffling beats in perfection. [DE:BUG, Berlin/Germany]
