B.VISIBLE (Cosmonostro/Viena)

GoodStuff Guns (Top10 Records/Viena)

PETER HARTWIG (KING ELECTRIC) supports MAD PROFESSOR
12th Mar 2015

MADE IN BABYLON and DUBTRAIN and KLUB SIR3NE
presents MAD PROFESSOR (live), Fluc Wanne Vienna, 20:30

A disciple of Lee “Scratch” Perry, Mad Professor was one of the leading producers in dub reggae´s second generation. His Dub Me Crazy albums helped dub make the transition into the digital age, when electronic productions started to take over mainstream reggae in the ´80s. His space-age tracks not only made use of new digital technology, but often expanded dub´s sonic blueprint, adding more elements and layers of sound than his forebears typically did. In the mid-´90s, he returned to the basics, debuting a more retro-sounding style on the Black Liberation Dub series. Additionally, he ran his own studio and label, Ariwa, which was home to a stable of vocalists (with an emphasis on lovers rock and conscious roots reggae) and some of the finest British reggae productions of the era. As his reputation grew, he became a remixer of choice for adventurous rock and techno acts, most notably revamping Massive Attack´s entire second album under the new title No Protection.

KING ELECTRIC | REMIXOLOGY VOL 1 | now available as 12" VINYL (TOPMAX04), rel date Spain, November 2014
incl Remixes from Top Youngsters Sixtus Preiss, Emufucka, B.Visible & more

Remixology Vol 1 is the first bunch of remixes of King Electric's self titled debut album, which incl the hit singles "Da King" & "Out Of Reach" (peaked #9 @ German Indie Charts).

Artists
Being a drummer Sixtus Preiss knows how to astonish audiences with sophisticated handmade beats. Needless to say that, as member of the Affine Gang (incl fellas like Cid Rim, The Clonious or Dorian Concept), he stands out with his originality and a nevertheless strong sense for the prevalent Zeitgeist. His "Paralyzed" Reprater remix is catchy and charismatic and also absolutely danceable.

We were blown away when we first heard B.Visible on decks (supporting one of King Electric Live Gigs)! He delivers a wicked remix of Corbucci Westworld Dub Epos "Yul Brynner"! An outstanding feature of B.Visible's sense of funk 'n' humor! Glitch Hop as it's best.

No surprise that Vienna's downtempo master Manni Montana has chosen the King Electric Hit Single "Out Of Reach". His "Handshake Dub" comes as a subsonic tune with skilfully intertwined noise snippets, continuously thickening bass lines and smashing beats.

Badass GoodStuff Guns is nothing less than a nasty old school Splatter-Electro Hazard! First KE Single "Da King" transformed into Solomon size NAS Mash Up with disturbing make-up effects, skull cracking beats and "Deutschfunk" synth basslines.

Tremendous comeback of legendary Berlin based Techno act Memory Foundation. "Pinball Wizard" Wild Fyre Mix is - without any doubt - the sickest filter ride you may get at any Warehouse Party. Robert Hood on Acid.

Tokyo native Takafumi Sakurai aka Emufucka was recently featured by the likes of XLR8R and BBC Radio, and Red Bull Music Academy recruited him to perform this year. On Remixology he writes his own genre and transforms his personal King Electric favourite "Commit Yourself" into a japanese sci-fi movie with dusty noise and synthesized melodies. Creepy!

KING ELECTRIC / Remixology Vol 1
[by TIXO]

"...This 12" presents 6 different remixes of their multi-faceted Funk, which we like very well since their debut album in winter 2012. Winner is the variety and the hits on the record are Emufuckas Tokyo version of "Commit Yourself" and the Goodstuff Guns Nas mashup. Loud, bassy and as fat as 14 Snickers." 8/10

THE LAST ONE album MENALKIAWN released
10th April 2013, [TOPLP02, p+c Top10 Records 2013]

The Last One came to life in early 2010 going one step further than the boundaries already tried out by Rodolfo Espina (Fito) and Lluis Vallès (MalditoLu), musicians, multi-instrumentalists and composers. They played together in the Barcelona band The Bares Band, now Santo Machango, over four years in different concerts and festivals across Spain, winning various competitions like Best Acoustic (Barcelona), Best Live (Barcelona) and Best mixed fusion band (Madrid)

The Last One Presenta "mënalkiawn", termino mapuche definido como "caminar en libertad".

KING ELECTRIC interview Soultrain Magazine
7th Feb 2013

KING ELECTRIC Interview in Soul Train Magazine, Germany's Soul Music-Magazine Nr.1 [by Oliver Gross]

KING ELECTRIC feature @ austrian SKUG Magazin

[by Gabriel Mayer]

Likeable...

KING ELECTRIC single OUT OF REACH released
[TOPMCD06, p+c Top10 Records 2012]

After the two electro-funk stompers "Da King" and "Commit Yourself", KING ELECTRIC surprises with their 3rd single OUT OF REACH (also taken from the debut Album "King Electric")!

It's surprising because the Radio Mix is such a bittersweet suicidal psycadelic swagger - so natural, so vintage! - and shows a brand new face of da Kings. Chris' Gahanesque vocs and Pete's Zombie Telecaster drives us back to 60's pop: "warm summerbreeze blows so endlessly".

Some Feedback:
No LSD trip could be more color- and beautiful. King Electric presents "Out Of Reach", a royal Psychedlic track that swaggers between retro sounds and postmodernism. Glorious!
[Disco Boheme | Germany]

Successful combination of 60 'psychedelic and electro. Pretty Things masterpiece "S.F.Sorrow" and Rolling Stones "2000 Light Years From Home" fused with sounds a la Kruder and Dorfmeister!
[Deutsche Trend Charts | Germany]

The official Video Clip (by Mingo.TV) comes highly recommended! Arameans acid romp through the forest! The typical King-b-movie style feat. the guys as Apostles escaped from the asylum - two idiots on their way to enlightenment! King Electric going back to Nature for a take on Psilocybin feast.
